Packaging, a product’s best friend and often forgotten companion.

Join us at CES 2016 to celebrate the momentous contributions of packaging.

Voion Printing (international) Group, Ltd is pleased to announce that the company will be attending the 2016 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) held in Las Vegas, Nevada from Jan 6 – Jan 9.

Are we a conventional Chinese Factory?  Mr. Tiger Li, President of Voion and Eddie Lau, the founder and General Manager, of V-Innovative, does not intend to become one.  “From the start, we’ve always strived to do more than just manufacturing.  We are one packaging manufacturer, or rather a specialist who is environmentally, cost, and aesthetically conscious.”

Packaging, gives consumers a first impression of the company, it represents the brand and identity of the organization, it evokes feelings of nostalgia in consumers, it attracts consumers to pick up the product, and most important of all, it carefully protects the product that it houses from the rigorous distribution environment so that it may safely reach the hands of consumers.

The package and product relationship is a harmonious one, where the product will always be paramount. Furthermore, Voion is thrilled to promote the ever importance of packaging and, “we’re excited to showcase a multitude of innovative packages this year.  Our booth will be located in the Sands Expo, booth #71864.”  Furthermore, please visit our online showroom here!

National Packaging Design Day

National Packaging Design Day is celebrated annually on May 7th.  It is a day to celebrate the art of packaging design as well as design professionals.  The global design community and those appreciative of beautiful, well-crafted packaging through sharing inspiring designs, share ideas, historical facts, information and awareness to the craftsmanship behind the package.

Living in the golden age of packaging, packaging is now much more than a means to protect a product or display a name, it’s the physical representation of a brand to the consumer.  Packaging is powerful, it’s not just what’s on the shelf that matters, but the unveiling process as well:  the layers, the textures, the moment of anticipation before seeing the product.  People may not think of the packaging designers when purchasing a product or opening a gift, but they exist, orchestrating the process from sketch to shelf.

To celebrate National Packaging Design Day, share packing you love, or an inspiring designer with #PackagingDesignDay.

Types of Boxes

There are times when people are ordering a box they will be confused with terminologies that throw by the packaging engineers.  Have you heard of terms like, HSC, RSC, FOL and, etc.?

Half slotted container

Half slotted container

HSC stands for half slotted container. Usually, the flaps are on-half of the container’s width, and they meet at the center of the box when folded with only one set of flaps.

Regular slotted container diagram

Regular slotted container

RSC stands for regular slotted container which is the same as HSC with one more set of flaps and is the most commonly used type of boxes.

Full overlap slotted container diagram

Full overlap slotted container

FOL stands for full overlap slotted container. This style of boxes creates a thicker cushioning which applies for heavy stacking. However, its’ downside is not very economical when it comes to material efficiency as usually inserts could be an option.

Tuck-top-auto-bottom box diagram

TTAB stands for tuck-top-auto-bottom box, and it is easily closed at the bottom and convenience for assembly line as the top can be easily folded and tucks into the box.
